Personalities

I do not believe a person or personality will fit neatly in a theoretical box. However, sometimes a framework for understanding how people are different is helpful. For fun and to inform, I have added this link to a free Myer-Briggs style personality questionnaire to help you start thinking about your strengths and how you may perceive things differently from others. This personality test is not owned or connected with Grow Thrive Shine in any way.

Information about each of the Myers-Briggs personality types can be found by clicking the buttons below.

Why include information about personalities in an Occuaptional Therapy website?

We first need to understand ourselves before we can set goals and build better relationships with others. To understand ourselves, we need to know our strengths, weaknesses, preferences, aversions, and fears.

Once we understand ourselves, we can better appreciate that being able to navigate people who are different from us is fundamental to effective relationships. Understanding differences between people helps communication, collaboration, and every facet of working with others. People can approach the same situation from different perspectives. Once we understand the different perspectives that have been bought to the relationship, defining goals and achieving goals within relationships becomes easier.

The following links have simple concise written information about the 4 dichotomies that Myers-Briggs uses to describe people and the 16 Myer-Briggs personality types:

Make some goals for personal growth.

Read information about other personality types. Reflect on tricky situations that come to your mind as you read. Is there something you can learn about another perspective?
